Today, August 6th is Primary Election Day for the area. Local and State representatives will be on the ballot vying for your vote. Here are a few things to know before heading to the Polls.
- Polling Places are required, by the State, to be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and if you are in line to vote when the Polls close you still have a right to vote.
- With a Primary Election in Kansas, voters must be affiliated with a certain Party. They can only vote for those under that particular Party they are registered with, unless it is an open primary.
- You can check your voter registration and find your polling place at www.voteks.gov.
- You must present a government-issued photo ID to vote, such as a driver’s license, U.S. passport, military ID, etc.
- Any mailed advanced ballots must be postmarked by this day and can arrive no later than Friday, August 9th.
