Heartland Dermatology has joined Dr. David Harden’s practice in Manhattan. Harden’s practice was established in Manhattan in 2009. Heartland Dermatology has 18 locations across Kansas; they specialize in medical, surgical, cosmetic dermatology, and skin cancer treatment. Heartland agreed to expand to Manhattan back in January 2024.

Tara Gillespie is the CEO of Heartland Dermatology. She explained that serving rural areas like Manhattan is something that the company specializes in. They see lots of farmers and people who have outdoor occupations. Skin cancer is something they see often.

According to the American Academy of Dermatology Association, skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States. It is estimated that one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime.
