Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise Brown dislocated his sternoclavicular shoulder joint during the team’s preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The injury occurred on the first play of the game when Brown caught an 11-yard pass from Patrick Mahomes and landed on his left shoulder after being tackled. Following the injury, Brown was immediately examined on the sideline before being taken to the locker room and then to a hospital for further evaluation.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid confirmed that Brown will miss some time due to the injury, drawing parallels to a similar injury suffered by former Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill in 2019, who missed four games. Brown, a key offseason acquisition for the Chiefs, was expected to help boost the team’s receiving corps alongside first-round draft pick Xavier Worthy. Last season, Brown recorded 51 catches for 574 yards and four touchdowns with the Arizona Cardinals.
