Obituary-Luella Marrs

Luella Jean Marrs, 89 died July 4, 2024, in Clay Center, KS.  She was born on December 8, 1934, in Clay County, the daughter of Frank and Sylvia (Murphy) Schoneweis.  Luella was a graduate of the Class of 1953 from Longford High School.  She attended nursing school in Halstead, graduating in 1957.  Luella married Leslie Marrs on Feb 23, 1958.  He preceded her in death on August 15, 1996.  She worked as a nurse at the Clay Center hospital for one year.  Luella spent the rest of her nursing career at the Ottawa County Hospital until her retirement in 1999.  After her retirement, she made her home in Clay Center.  Luella was a member of the Wells United Methodist Church and attended the Emmanuel Independent Baptist Church in Clay Center. She enjoyed organizing family reunions and high school reunions through the years.  Luella was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Harold Schoneweis.

Son: Jeff Marrs of Davie, FL

Sister Alice Brill of Newton, KS

Brother: Rev. Wilbur and wife Irene Schoneweis of Wichita, KS

6 Grandchildren, 3 Step-grandsons, 6 Great-grandchildren

Celebration of Life: 11AM Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the Bennington Bible Church in Bennington, KS.
