The Jayhusker Races are returning to the Clay County Fairgrounds dirt track this Saturday, August 24th starting with hot laps at 6:30 p.m. with the first race starting at 7:00 p.m.

The Jayhusker Club is a participant of racers from Kansas and Nebraska. The Club began in 1993, the same year the Fairgrounds dirt track was redone.

Mike Argo, Fair Board President, said that the last race had over 70 cars and great attendance. There are multiple heats consisting of different classes of cars and trucks.

All races start with hot laps. Argo said this gives the racers a chance to get used to the track. He said the track can change from race to race.

Along with this weekend’s races, there will also be races on September 14th and September 28th. Concessions are available and Chilly Hillbilly will be at the track serving snow cones. More information on this weekend’s races can be found on the Fair Association’s Facebook Page.
