Obituary-Donald Bulk

Donald Bulk, age 79, entered into rest on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the Salina Regional Medical Center, Salina, Kansas.  He was born on November 20, 1944, in Cleburne, Kansas to Carl and Naomia (Gassert) Bulk.

Donald grew up on a farm in the Leonardville community.  He attended Leonardville school and then Riley County High School.  Due to his brother Royce needing his care and help he left high school at an early age.  Donald met Nellie Hoffman during his time at Riley County High School, they have known each other for more than 50 years.

 Nellie and Donald have been together for 28 years, since 1996 they truly loved each other. 

 Donald worked for Bayer’s Construction Company in Manhattan, Kansas for 34 years.  He was a Heavy Equipment Operator.

 He enjoyed attending farm shows, monster truck events, being outdoors, and most of all spending time with his family.

 Donald is survived by his common law wife, Nellie Hoffman, Concordia, KS; daughter, Marcia West, Concordia, KS; two sons, Tim Steadman, Riley, KS; Mark Steadman, Concordia, KS; sister, Ruth Drown, Minneapolis, KS: two brothers, Vern Bulk, Riley, KS; Bob Bulk, Leonardville, KS; and his seven grandchildren.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Naomia, brother, Royce Bulk, sister, Dorcile Moon.

Donald’s wishes were to be cremated and a Celebration of Life service will be held at a later time at the Swede Creek Cemetery, North of Randolph, KS.
