Kansas Department of Transportation Seeks Public Input on Safe Routes to School Program Through Survey and Webinars

The Kansas Department of Transportation is inviting the public to provide input on the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program through an online survey and virtual webinars. The feedback collected will guide future program development and recommendations. The SRTS program aims to increase the number of students walking, biking, and rolling to school, enhancing safety, health, and physical activity. These efforts can also reduce traffic, improve air quality, and lower costs for families.

The survey is open to everyone, and parents, city employees, school staff, as well as SRTS practitioners and advocates are encouraged to participate.

The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete and is available here. The deadline is September 30.

There will also be four virtual webinars held in September for those interested in implementing SRTS activities, including public health practitioners, city and county planners, engineers, school administrators, teachers, and parents:
