The Washington community is invited to a public meeting on Wednesday, September 11th to discuss the opening of a new daycare. The Washington County Hospital board previously purchased a house last year, intending to establish a daycare but has struggled to find someone to operate it.
The meeting, scheduled from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the hospital dining room, hopes to gather community input on how to proceed. The house, purchased in November, formerly housed a daycare, and the hospital plans to use its basement for the new childcare facility. Hospital employees will have enrollment priority. If successful, the board envisions eventually building a larger daycare center on the site of the soon-to-be-demolished nursing home
