Temporary Parking Changes at Clay County Medical Center

CCMC Release

Starting mid-September, a portion of the main parking area at Clay County
Medical Center (CCMC) will be unavailable through the end of the year. As part of the upcoming
construction project, the entire west end of the main parking lot will be completely removed,
regraded, and rebuilt.

“This phase of the construction project has two purposes: to meet ADA requirements for our future
handicap parking spaces and to ensure proper drainage of runoff water,” explained CEO Austin
Gillard. “We expect this portion of the project to be wrapped up by the end of December and parking
will go back to normal.”

The main entrance canopy will not be accessible for vehicles, but patients and visitors can still use
the main entrance sidewalk to enter CCMC and Clay Center Family Physicians. A phone number has
been developed and will be posted on signs for patients to call for assistance from their cars.

Total completion on the 6,765 square-foot construction project has an expected completion of July 2025. The $4.6 million construction project will include a 2,400-square-foot mental health clinic and
a 4,300-square-foot expansion of Clay Center Family Physicians with dedicated space for surgery
and pulmonology services, along with enhancements to the emergency department and a parking lot
expansion for the wellness center and therapy departments.
