Different Topics Discussed During Clay Center City Council Regular Meeting on September 3rd

The Clay Center City Council discussed topics including: building permits, sidewalk work, sales tax, and more during their regular meeting on September 3rd.

The Council made a motion to approve a special event license for Idle Hour, with the motion passing unanimously.

Amelia Blackwood, City Clerk, informed the Council that budget hearings and adoptions will be presented at the next meeting.

Councilor Mike Schultze reported to the Council that a building permit extension was issued for a porch, along with a building permit being issued for a Shop within the City.

Councilor Daton Hess reported that the Rotary Club will be replacing sections of sidewalks this Fall. He also reported to the Council on sales taxes collected in the month of June.

Mayor Thatcher reported that the Pool is now closed for the season, but the water has to remain in the pool until the chemicals are removed before the water can be drained.
