Clay Center Dominates Abilene in 34-7 Victory

The Clay Center Tigers secured a decisive 34-7 win over the Abilene Cowboys in their home opener on Friday night. Senior quarterback Cole Pladson led the Tigers, completing 12-of-22 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns. Pladson also added 50 rushing yards and two scores on the ground.

Junior running back Eisaac Girton had a strong performance, rushing for 144 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown. Senior receiver Jace Weller hauled in three receptions for 108 yards and two touchdowns.

The Tigers’ defense held firm, recording four sacks and forcing four turnovers. Senior linebacker Owen Craig contributed six tackles and a sack, while Walker Henry had two interceptions, helping to stifle Abilene’s offense.

Congratulations to #5 Cole Pladson (overall and special teams), #25 Eisaac Girton (offensive), and #18 Walker Henry (defensive) for being selected as the Clay Center Football Players of the Game.

The Tigers’ next matchup is their homecoming game against Southeast Saline.
