K-State volleyball faced tough competition at the Creighton Classic, falling to both No. 20 USC and No. 11 Creighton over the weekend. The Wildcats lost to USC in four sets on Friday, 21-25, 25-16, 25-27, 22-25, despite double-doubles from Aliyah Carter (17 kills, 13 digs) and Izzi Szulczewski (41 assists, 13 digs).
On Saturday, K-State struggled against Creighton, losing in straight sets, 17-25, 13-25, 19-25. Senior libero Ella Larkin earned All-Tournament honors with 26 digs over the weekend. Carter led the offense with 11 kills in the match against Creighton, while Shaylee Myers added eight.
K-State (1-4) hit at a season-low .112 against Creighton, as the Bluejays controlled the match with strong defense. The Wildcats now return home to face Lipscomb on Thursday, September 12, as they look to bounce back from the tough weekend.
