Chiefs Win 26-25 Thriller Over Bengals on Last-Second Field Goal

By Jayson Henderson

The Kansas City Chiefs secured a dramatic 26-25 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium. Harrison Butker hit a 51-yard field goal as time expired, lifting the Chiefs to a 2-0 start.

The Bengals led for much of the game, but key plays by Kansas City shifted momentum. In the fourth quarter, Chiefs defensive back Chamarri Conner sacked Joe Burrow on a third-down blitz and later returned a Burrow fumble for a 38-yard touchdown, putting Kansas City ahead 23-22.

Patrick Mahomes connected with Wanya Morris for a 1-yard touchdown earlier in the game. The Chiefs defense forced crucial stops, including a third-quarter sack by Chris Jones, and overcame three turnovers, including two Mahomes interceptions.

A pass interference call on 4th-and-16 in the final seconds helped set up Butker’s game-winner, as the Chiefs survived a strong effort from Cincinnati.
