Brown Grand Theatre To Host Haunted Moonlight Tour

The Brown Grand Theatre in Concordia isn’t just known for its beauty. It’s also known as a haunted theatre, with paranormal groups frequently renting the theatre for private investigations. Paranormal tours are offered as often as scheduling allows.

On Saturday, October 19th, the Brown Grand will host its Haunted Moonlight Tour. The event is 75 minutes long and provides visitors with an introduction to the Brown Grand’s haunted history. It also gives them a chance to experiment with low-tech ghost-hunting gear, like EFP readers, dowsing rods, pendulums, and more.

What makes the Brown Grand so haunted? Director Melissa Swenson said, “Primarily, the ghost of Earl Brown is known to be seen here. He is the son of Colonel Napoleon Bonapart Brown and wants to make sure the theatre is still being used as it was intended, and to make sure everyone knows of his wife’s contributions to the theatre when it was being built in 1906-1907.”

Other ghosts known to be at the theatre include Katherine Brown, Gertrude Brown, and others. The tour will be led by Tonya Merrill and participants are encouraged to bring their cell phones and cameras to capture any ghost evidence.

The tour begins at 8:00 p.m. and tickets can be purchased on the Brown Grand’s website.
