No. 8 Kansas Sweeps Cincinnati to Stay Unbeaten in Big 12 Play

The No. 8 Kansas volleyball team swept Cincinnati 3-0 on Saturday afternoon, remaining undefeated in Big 12 play. Kansas, now 14-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference, was led by freshman Reese Ptacek, who recorded a career-high 13 kills with an impressive .812 hitting percentage.

Kansas started strong, winning the first set 25-21, fueled by five kills each from Ptacek and Rhian Swanson. The Jayhawks dominated the second set, cruising to a 25-11 victory, with senior Camryn Turner contributing eight assists.

The sweep was completed with a 25-18 win in the third set. Ptacek added five more kills, while senior Caroline Bien chipped in five as well. Kansas finished with a .416 team hitting percentage.

Kansas will now return home to face in-state rival Kansas State on Thursday, October 17, with first serve at 6:30 p.m.
