The Kansas City Royals concluded their 2024 season with a 30-win improvement and their first postseason appearance since 2015. Despite being eliminated by the Yankees in the American League Division Series, the Royals made significant strides.
A key moment during the season was the June 7 comeback win against the Mariners, showcasing the team’s resilience. Bobby Witt Jr., Vinnie Pasquantino, and Salvador Perez led the offensive charge, while the pitching rotation, anchored by Cole Ragans and Seth Lugo, helped post the second-best ERA in baseball.
Looking ahead, the Royals aim to strengthen their lineup, particularly at the top of the order, and add more depth to the pitching staff. Freddy Fermin, who emerged as a strong defensive catcher, became a finalist for the AL Gold Glove award. With continued improvement, the Royals are positioned to build on their success in 2025.
