Concordia Lutheran Church Foundation Contributes to CES and CMS

Concordia USD 333

With colder weather approaching, a donation from the Concordia Lutheran Church Foundation to Concordia Elementary School and Concordia Middle School will help students stay warm and comfortable. Alice Bachand, a representative of the Concordia Lutheran Church Foundation, presented checks of $500 each to CES and CMS to pay for clothing and personal supplies for students in times of family emergency. “Kids can be scared and vulnerable during times of need, and we are fortunate to receive annual support from the Concordia Lutheran Church Foundation to help families in need,” said Krystal Breese, CES Assistant Principal. CMS Principal Curtis Noon said he agrees that it is during those most vulnerable periods in a child’s life that the care of others is most noticed. Noon said we are grateful for a level of community support to help students understand they are a respected part of our community.

In addition to the annual donation for student supplies, the Concordia Lutheran Church Foundation also presented a contribution of $250 toward the CMS Outdoor Recreation project. The CMS recreational area will be a leveled permeable turf surface, open to students during school, and open to the public when school is not in session. The field will be available to approximately 200 middle school students during the day, an additional 90 students attending the Concordia Afterschool Program

(CAP), and available to our community whenever school is not in session. Kim Muff, Director of the Concordia Education Fund, says this contribution provides our kids with a gift of health and happiness. The USD 333 Concordia Education Fund is held at the Community Foundation for Cloud County, a non-profit organization. The Concordia Education Fund is accepting tax deductible gifts to the CMS Outdoor Recreation project through the end of the month and for the CES Playground Fencing project beginning in November.

USD 333 and the Concordia Education Fund would like to thank the Concordia Lutheran Church Foundation for its continued support of families and students within our schools.
