Clay County’s newly formed Young Professionals Group will host its first informational meeting on Wednesday, November 20th from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at the Clay County Historical Society & Museum.
The Young Professionals Group, Co-chaired by Kathryn Doster-Tipsword and Sofia Gallup, aims to bring the community together to help bring in and retain young professionals through mentorships, professional development, and activities, helping to integrate them into the community.
Gallup said this meeting is a starting point for the new group.
“This meeting is going to be what we want the group to look like, talk about the potential of the group and what people want to get out of it. Then basically overall it’s just to develop the organization when you’ve got to start from somewhere. And so, this is that beginning initial start.”
With the meeting being a starting point for the group Tipsword and Gallup hope young, or young-at-heart community members will attend the meeting and provide feedback on how to best form this new group. Gallup explains the overall goal of the Young Professionals Group.
“We’re partnering with Grow Clay County to help those people want to stay here and to get involved and make this a starting place to, you know, start and stay with their families and to help grow the community in general. I know we already have a lot of people active. I guess this would be a way that we can harness that and really put a name to it and do good in the community.”
Interested patrons are asked to RSVP by Friday, November 15th so they have a head count for lunch. RSVP at https://docs.google.com/…/1FAIpQLSeSdZfutgm…/viewform….
