Wildcats Gain Experience at Big 12 Championship

K-State’s men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the Big 12 Championship on Friday at Cottonwood Golf Course. The Wildcats, fielding a younger team that included five freshmen running their first conference race, recorded new personal bests.

The women’s team finished 10th with 319 points, led by freshman Christine Jerono in 51st place with a time of 21:10.69, marking a new personal best. The men’s team placed 12th with 328 points, highlighted by senior Tommy Hazen’s personal best of 24:12.73, finishing 58th.

Both teams will continue their postseason at the NCAA Midwest Regional in Peoria, Illinois, on November 15.
