Clay County Health Dept. Hosts 18 Flu Clinics

This flu season, the Clay County Health Department has hosted a total of 18 flu clinics, where nurse Nikki Burwell, RN and nurse Allie Martin, RN, BSN, delivered flu shots to people on-site.

This included all USD 379 school locations and several area businesses, such as City Hall, the Clay County Courthouse, GT and Wardcraft Homes. Burwell, also reported that she has even hosted flu clinics in Wakefield, Clifton, and Green this year.

Burwell said she administered approximately 300 flu shots to kids and staff between Lincoln, Garfield, CCCMS, CCCHS, and Wakefield locations.

“We get more people every year,” she said. The Health Dept. has provided this mobile service to the public since 1997
