Leo Chenal’s Block Secures Win, Earns AFC Special Teams Honor

By Jayson Henderson

Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Leo Chenal was named the AFC “Special Teams Player of the Week” after his game-saving blocked field goal against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. The block preserved the Chiefs’ ninth consecutive win, keeping them undefeated this season.

Chenal’s decisive play marked just the third time in the past decade that a blocked field goal ended a game. He is the first Chiefs player to receive this honor since kicker Harrison Butker in Week 17 of last season.

The Chiefs now turn their focus to a crucial matchup against the Buffalo Bills this Sunday.
