Obituary-Naomi Baxter

Naomi Baxter, 62, of Clay Center, Kansas, passed away on November 22, 2024, at Advena Living in Clay Center. She was born on March 28, 1962, to Rama and Violet (Beals) Hughes in Miltonvale, Kansas.

Naomi was raised on a farm in Miltonvale, where she grew up with six siblings, learning the values of hard work, dedication, and the importance of family. She graduated from Miltonvale High School in 1980, and in 1982, she married Victor Baxter. Together, they raised four children: Victoria, Gloria, Jason, and Gary.

A devoted grandmother, Naomi cherished every moment spent with her three beloved grandchildren—Taylor, Brooke, and Kiersten. She delighted in spoiling them with love, attention, and laughter, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by her family for years to come.

Naoi’s career spanned several local establishments, where she worked with compassion and dedication. She contributed to Key Mill, Presbyterian Manor, Medicalodge, Wakefield Rehabilitation, and Clay County Medical Center, always offering her help and support to those in need.

Her faith was a cornerstone of Naomi’s life. As a longtime member of Clay Center Wesleyan Church, she fostered a deep and personal relationship with God, which shaped her actions, relationships, and the love she shared with others. Naomi’s unwavering devotion to her family was evident in everything she did—from daily moments to special occasions. Her kindness, warmth, and love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Son-in-laws: Anthony Dumas of Clay Center, KS and Jason Escamilla of Lincoln, NE

Grandchildren: Taylor Dumas, Kiersten Dumas and Brooke Manning of Omaha, NE

Her siblings: Stanley, Aaron, Sharon, Charles, Francis and Paul, along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services: 10:30AM Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Wesleyan Church in Clay Center, KS.  The family invites all who knew and loved Naomi to join them in remembering and honoring her remarkable life.

Visitation: 4-7 PM Friday, November 29, at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home
