Obituary-Janelle Slingsby

Janelle Nicole Slingsby (43) went to her eternal home on November 24, 2024, at her residence in Topeka, KS.  She was born on December 6th, 1980, in Clay Center, KS to Carol and Walter Slingsby.

She was raised in Clay Center and graduated from Clay Center Community High School. After high school, she graduated from Bethany College with a degree in elementary education. She taught in Catholic schools until she became a mother and devoted her life to raising her family.

Her three children were the joy of her life. The time and experiences she shared with them were her most cherished moments. Whether taking them on trips or immersing them in the music she grew up with, they always found a way to have a new adventure.

Janelle had a kind heart, a free spirit, and the ability to make anyone feel loved. Her motherly nature made everyone in her orbit feel cared for.

She is survived by her three children; Lucas, Anna, and Joseph Bergman of Topeka, KS; her father Walter Slingsby of Clay Center; brothers Shon & wife Haylle Slingsby (Kaitlyn & Francis) of Wichita, KS; Adam and wife Alicia Slingsby (Emerson & Dylan) of Clay Center, and Patrick and wife Amy Slingsby of Clay Center.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Slingsby.

Funeral Services: 10:30AM Thursday, December 5, 2024, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clay Center, KS 

Visitation: 4-6 PM Wednesday, December 4, at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home.  A vigil and rosary service will follow visitation

Memorials:  Janelle Slingsby Memorial fund c/o the funeral home.  This fund will be used for her children’s education.
