Clay Center Community High School FFA is partnering with 24 participating businesses in Clay Center for its annual Business Bingo event. From now through January 3rd community members can grab a Bingo card at any participating business to have stamped while shopping local.
Andrea Flegler, FFA Instructor, said students came up with the idea a few years ago as a way to give back to the people and businesses that support them throughout the year.
“Some students came up with the idea of how we can make sure that people are supporting our local businesses. We know that a lot of our local businesses do support not only our FFA chapter, but also a lot of other student programming that our district does. So, we wanted to make sure that we put that focus back on them during the holiday season to make sure that people are visiting their businesses just to make sure that the businesses flourish in our community.”
Community members simply bring their Bingo cards with them while they shop at participating businesses. Flegler explained how the event works.
“Any of the 24 participating businesses should have a flyer that they’ve posted, maybe on the door or a bulletin board outlining that they are a Business Bingo location.”
“Any of the participating businesses is where you can pick a card. When you shop at those businesses, they will stamp your card, and then once you have either a bingo or a blackout you will just leave it with a participating business.”
Bingo cards will be entered into a drawing that will be held on Tuesday, January 7th. Participants will have a chance to win various items donated by the participating businesses. Visit any participating business for more information.
