CCMC Release
Meadowlark Hospice is proud to announce it has earned a five-star rating from
the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Family Caregiver Survey, making it one of
only two hospices in Kansas to achieve this prestigious distinction.
The CMS Family Caregiver Survey gathers feedback from family members and friends of hospice
patients, assessing the quality of care provided by hospices. The survey measures various aspects of
care, including communication, respect for patient preferences, and overall satisfaction. Respondents
are asked whether they would recommend the hospice to others, with ratings based on a 5-star scale.
“We are honored and humbled to receive this recognition,” said Amy Burr, Director of Meadowlark
Hospice. “This five-star rating reflects our dedicated team’s commitment to providing compassionate,
high-quality care to patients and their families during what is often a difficult time.”
Meadowlark Hospice has consistently received positive feedback from caregivers, who have
highlighted the organization’s personalized approach, responsiveness, and the caring support
provided throughout the hospice journey.
“Our team works tirelessly to create an environment of comfort and support for both the patient and
their family,” Burr continued. “This recognition from CMS is a reflection of the trust our families
place in us and the exceptional care our staff provides.”
The five-star rating is part of the CMS Hospice Quality Reporting Program, which helps consumers
compare the performance of different hospices in the United States. The program aims to improve
care quality by providing transparency and giving families the information they need to make
informed decisions about hospice care.
