K-State Research & Extension is partnering with the University of Nebraska and Purdue University for a workshop series for women in agriculture. The four-part series, titled “Leaving a Lasting Legacy for Midwestern Farm Women: A Succession Planning Series,” will take place on January 21st, January 28th, February 4th, and February 11th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The River Valley Extension District will host this workshop series at two different locations, the Clay County Event Center in Clay Center and the Republic County 4-H Building in Belleville.

Kelsey Hatesohl, Horticulture Extension Agent, said this series is geared toward wives, daughters, grandchildren, and so forth connected to the farming sector. She spoke a little about the series.

“The Succession Planning Series helps your family walk through the process of passing things on to the next. We’re just going to walk through the steps each week and kind of build on what we’ve learned from the week before and to the next. Working your way through the process of succession planning, just to help people with the process.”

“It’s a tough topic to talk about sometimes, but it’s very important and we need to talk about it.”

An RSVP with a registration fee is required to help cover meals and educational materials. Patrons who preregister before January 12th for in-person attendance will be offered a discount on their fee. Patrons also have the option of attending the series online via Zoom.
