Thomas “Tom” Cannizzo Sr., age 85, died December 18, 2024, at the Clay County Medical Center. He was born in Richfield Springs, New York on April 26, 1939, to Frank and Naomi (Hall) Cannizzo. Tom was raised in the Richfield Springs area. He joined the United States Air Force in October of 1959 and served until 1963. Tom married Elinor Hensle on September 3, 1960. They made their home in Cooperstown, NY until moving to Chapman, KS. They then settled in Wakefield and spent over 50 years there. Tom ran one of the rock trucks during the lake building project. He also worked for the postal service for many years and retired from the Kansas State Library where he worked as a Currier. Tom enjoyed collecting coins and watching westerns. He was a member of the Elks and Legion. Tom is preceded in death by his wife, Elinor; parents; and siblings, Josephine, Frank and Bill
