Winter Storm Blair delivered heavy snow and ice from the Midwest to the mid-Atlantic over the weekend, disrupting travel and placing millions under winter storm warnings.
In Kansas, Chapman and areas near St. George saw 18 inches of snow, while Topeka recorded its third-largest single-day snowfall and fourth-largest two-day total on record. Kansas City International Airport reported 11 inches on Sunday, the city’s fourth-largest single-day snowfall since 1888. The highest recorded was 16.1 inches on March 23, 1912.
As of 1:29 p.m., Evergy’s outage map showed 477 customers without service, with full restoration expected today. The Kansas Department of Transportation’s KanDrive Map shows several roads remain closed as crews clear snow and ice. Authorities advise against travel.
Many businesses, government offices, and schools are closed.
