The Kansas Corn Growers Association (KCGA) will kick off its 50th Anniversary celebration at the Kansas Corn Symposium on Thursday, Jan. 30, at the Salina Hilton Garden Inn. The event will begin with a luncheon featuring a market analysis by Grain and Oilseed Analyst Bree Baatz from Terrain Ag.
The KCGA Annual Meeting will include policy discussions, updates from the KCGA and National Corn Growers Association, and conversations on resolutions and elections. The afternoon will conclude with a Succession Planning Workshop, featuring attorney Brian Moore from Hanson, Beverlin, and Moore; Ashley Westerhold, Director of K-State’s AgKansitions program; and Tax Accountant Mike Tholstrup from Farm Management Services Inc.
During dinner, Kansas Corn will celebrate 50 years of advocacy for Kansas corn farmers, honoring Kansas Corn Yield Contest winners, participants in the Kansas Corn Corps young farmer program, and Collegiate Academy graduates.
Founded in 1975 by a committee of growers led by Earl Foote of Bucyrus, KCGA has become a respected, active, farmer-led voice for Kansas corn farmers. Over the years, Kansas Corn has made significant contributions to the National Corn Growers Association, with two past presidents and six Kansas leaders serving on its Corn Board. KCGA continues to have a strong presence on the national level, with current leaders serving on NCGA action teams and other partnering organizations.
The Kansas Corn Symposium is free to growers, thanks to support from sponsors. Participants are encouraged to stay for the Commodity Classic on Friday, Jan. 31, at the Salina Hilton Garden Inn. For more details and to register, visit kscorn.com.
