The River Valley Extension District will host its 2024 Agricultural Land Leasing Arrangement Survey Meeting on Thursday, January 23rd at The Branch in Clyde, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

This meeting is free to attend, and snacks will be provided. Kaitlyn Nelson, Livestock Production Agent, spoke about this annual event.

“The 2024 Agriculture Land Leasing Arrangement Survey meeting will be a presentation about the data we collected when we sent out our land leasing arrangement surveys to farmers and ranchers in the River Valley District.”

Nelson said both agriculture landowners and leasers are encouraged to attend. She said the goal is to provide as much information as they can about current rates.

“The goal is to provide as much information as we can about the current trends we’re seeing in the district for rental rates across cropland, pasture land, and then of course for those people that also graze crop residues such as corn stalk, milo, or wheat pastures and things like that.”

“We’re trying to hit owners and those leasers, to at least be able to give them an updated version of what we’re seeing for our rental rates across our district.”

Contact Nelson at the Washington Extension office, or Agriculture and Natural Resource Agent Luke Byer at the Clay Center Extension office with any questions.
