Veterans Must Update Sign-In for VA Health Care Accounts by Jan. 31, 2025, or Risk Losing Access

New security requirements are changing how Veterans sign into their VA health care accounts, and those who don’t update their sign-in option by Jan. 31, 2025, may lose access.

Currently, about 4,800 Veterans enrolled at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center and its outpatient clinics statewide still need to update their sign-in method. My HealtheVet, a patient portal for VA health care, allows Veterans to order prescriptions, view appointments, send secure messages to providers, and access patient records.

After Jan. 31, 2025, Veterans and beneficiaries will no longer be able to use usernames and passwords for My HealtheVet or DS Logon. Instead, they will need to sign in using either a Login.gov or ID.me account. VA has created a webpage with helpful tips for setting up these accounts, including guidance on photo requirements and troubleshooting common issues.

In addition, Dole VA is hosting an in-person training and support event on Jan. 24, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Event details and location information can be found on the Dole VA website. Veterans can still coordinate care in person or by phone, and the Dole VA team is available to assist with any questions.
