Representative Sharice Davids announced the launch of her seventh annual “Valentines for Vets” program today, aimed at collecting and distributing Valentine’s Day cards to veterans and their caregivers in Kansas’ Third District. Residents are encouraged to mail their cards to Davids’ office in Overland Park from now through Thursday, February 13. The cards will then be delivered to Kansas veterans and caregivers at a local Veterans Affairs (VA) facility.
“The Valentines for Vets program offers us a way to show our appreciation for those who have sacrificed so much to keep us safe,” said Davids. “I hope many of our neighbors here in Kansas will choose to participate in this heartwarming tradition, as I know our office looks forward to delivering these messages of gratitude to veterans and their families each year.”
In previous years, Kansans have written hundreds of handwritten messages for local veterans as part of the “Valentines for Vets” program.
