Geary County Historical Society will Host Kansas Day Activities

Heather Hagedorn, Geary County Historical Society and Museums

The Geary County Historical Society will be celebrating Kansas’s 164th birthday this Saturday, January 25th,  at their monthly STEAM Saturday program.

The Society’s Executive Director, Heather Hagedorn, said Kansas Day activities, including engineering your own pioneer trunk, packing a covered wagon, and making a Kansas state symbol mosaic station, will be open to participants of all ages. The activities will be held at the Museum at 530 N. Adams between 1:00 and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Thanks to support from United Way Junction City/Geary County, STEAM Saturday is free for all participants. Kansas will celebrate its birthday statewide on January 29th, the day that President Buchanan signed paperwork admitting Kansas into the Union in 1861.
