Kansas State men’s basketball fell to Baylor, 70-62, on Wednesday in Waco, Texas. Despite leading by 12 points early in the second half, the Wildcats were outscored 44-32 after halftime.
Freshman VJ Edgecombe led Baylor with 30 points, scoring 20 in the second half, while the Bears shot 60% from the field during that stretch. Edgecombe hit key shots down the stretch, including back-to-back threes that helped Baylor take control.
K-State’s David N’Guessan posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Brendan Hausen and Dug McDaniel each added 12 points.
K-State shot 43.6% overall and 37.5% from three but committed nine turnovers and struggled to defend Baylor’s late offensive push.
The Wildcats, now 7-11 overall and 1-6 in Big 12 play, return home Saturday to host No. 23 West Virginia.
