2025 CCCHS Winter Homecoming Candidates

Jenna Fickes is the daughter of Nick and Karla Fickes. While in high school she has been a two-year member of the National Honor Society and has lettered academically each year. She has been a four-year FFA member, serving as the chapter treasurer and secretary in past years. Jenna is currently the Senior Class Vice-President. Outside of school, she is an eleven-year 4-H member, where she is serving as the Washington Headliners Club President, Ambassador, and 4-H Council President. Jenna is employed by the Clay County Medical Center. She is also a member of the United Methodist Church. Jenna plans to attend Kansas State University and major in communication sciences and disorders after graduation. 

Janae Crimmins is the daughter of Jeremy and Shelby Crimmins. While in High School, Janae has been a four-year member of the Tiger Volleyball, Basketball, and softball teams competing at the varsity level for the past 3 years for each. She has also lettered academically each year. Janae is employed by Ginger’s Uptown and attends Clay Center United Methodist Church. After graduation, Janae plans to attend Bellus Academy to obtain her cosmetology license. 

Lydia Peterson is the daughter of Thad and Shellie Peterson. While in high school, Lydia has been a member of the National Honor Society and has lettered academically each year. She has been on The Dance Company’s competition team for 6 years; however, this is her 15th and final year in dance. She has taught many younger dance and tumbling classes throughout her years, and done choreography for Tiger Chorale. Lydia is the treasurer for the student council and was a class representative her junior year. During her high school career, Lydia played tennis in her sophomore and junior years and was a cheerleader for her senior year. She is currently interning at Clay Center Abstract and Title and is a member of the Presbyterian church. Lydia plans to attend Kansas State University in the fall to major in interior design and minor in communications following graduation.

Gabi Koppes is the daughter of Sheldon and Danelle Koppes. While in high school, Gabi has been a 3-sport athlete all 4 years, competing in golf, wrestling, and track this season. She is a 2 year member of the National Honor Society and lettered academically each year of high school. Gabi currently serves as the senior class treasurer. She attends Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and is a member of the CYO. Gabi is employed as a lifeguard at Clay Center Aquatic Park during the summer and has an internship at Pyle Chiropractic during the school year. After graduation, Gabi plans to attend Baker University and major in Chiropractic Science. She will compete for both the track and wrestling team at Baker. 



Cole Pladson is the son of Amy and Cory Pladson. While in high school, Cole has been a part of Fellowship of Christian Athletes for 4 years, Future Business Leaders of America for 3 years–as the Vice President this year, National Honors Society as the treasurer, and a Junior Class Officer. He also has been a 4-year letter winner in football, basketball, powerlifting, and baseball, while being awarded both all-league and all-state honors in each sport. Cole is employed by Clay Center Parks and Recreation and gives baseball lessons to the youth. He will attend Oklahoma State University to play baseball, and major in business management. 

Isaac Berggren is the son of John and Libby Berggren. While in high school, Isaac has played baseball and basketball all four years. He has been a member of the National Honors Society for 2 years and is 4 time letter winner academically. Isaac has also been a member of FCA for 4 years and FFA for two years.  Outside of school, Isaac enjoys hunting, fishing, being outdoors, traveling with his family, and hanging out with his friends. He is also an involved member of the First Lutheran Church in Clay Center. This coming fall, Isaac plans to attend Kansas State University where he will pursue a degree in Environmental Engineering.

Fernando Avalos is the son of Juan and Maria Avalos. While in high school, Fernando has been a four-year member of the Cross Country and Track team, competing at the varsity level all four years. He earned NCKL All-League runner this fall in Cross Country. He is a two-year member of the Future Business Leaders of America and has lettered each year academically. Fernando has participated in choir during high school and has been a member of Tiger Chorale for the past two years. Outside of school, Fernando enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and attending sporting events. Fernando plans to attend Kansas State University and major in Finance after graduation.

Owen Craig is the son of Brent and Erica Craig. While in high school Owen has been a part of the football and basketball team for all 4 years and baseball for 3 years, all while competing at varsity level during 4 years of involvement. Owen has received all-league honors the last 2 years in football. Owen has also been in choir all 4 years of high school; 3 of them being in Tiger Chorale. Owen attends the Alert Covenant Church. In his free time he enjoys being outdoors; hunting, fishing, or farming on his grandparent’s farm. Owen is currently undecided on where he wants to attend college but wants to pursue a degree in sports management.
