Clay Center took 5th this past weekend after winning their final two games on Friday and Saturday. Against (8-2) Holcomb the Lady Tigers rolled to a 52-33 win. Sophomore guard Lily Edwards was red hot finishing at the rim and knocking them down for three on her way to a career-high 33 points. Raeggan McDonald had 7 points to go along with 7 rebounds: Janae Crimmins-5, Ayla Johnson-5 and 2 each from Boston Craig and Mily McGee. In the 5th place game, the Lady Tigers handed Remington just their 2nd loss in the year 38-22. A dominant defense held Remington scoreless in the second quarter. McDonald owned the paint on her way to 15 points; Edwards had 9. In the 3rd quarter, Crimmins hit two big 3’s and Raimee Lipker scored 6 points in a run that put Clay Center up by double digits. Molly McGee also had 2 points. It’s Homecoming week for the Lady Tigers; they get set to host Concordia this Friday in The Den.
