K-State Salina Offers High School Students Unique Opportunity to Earn College Credits with Pre-College Pathways Program

Kansas State University Salina is offering unique, in-demand educational opportunities for high school students through its pre-college pathways program. These courses allow students to earn college credits in fields such as aviation maintenance, applied business, applied cyber systems design, and uncrewed aircraft systems, all offered predominantly online for flexibility.

The program gives high school students a head start on their postsecondary education and careers by providing valuable skills for high-demand industries. Aviation maintenance students can complete an associate degree in just one year, reducing the typical two-year timeline.

In addition to the college credit, students benefit from a significant cost reduction, with a scholarship offering up to a 73% discount on tuition, lowering the rate to $85 per credit hour.

Courses are taught by K-State Salina faculty with extensive knowledge and industry experience. To qualify, students must be juniors or seniors, have at least a 2.0 GPA, and receive permission from their parents or guardians and high school counselors.

Students interested in the program should apply by March 14. For more details, they can contact their guidance counselors or email K-State Salina’s pre-college pathways at salinaprecollege@k-state.edu.
