5th Annual Aggieville Showdown Set to Take over Aggieville Business District

By: Ryan Duey

Cattle exhibitors from across the country will take over the Aggieville Business District on Saturday, April 5th, during the 5th Annual Aggieville Showdown.

This unique event takes place in the heart of the Aggieville Business District starting at 6:30 p.m. Christian Calliham, Aggieville Showdown Founder and Executive Director said this unique event features more than just a livestock event.

“We have Exhibitors come from all across the country and they are all competing for the opportunity to show in the Aggieville Business District.”

“This is not your typical Grand Drive, we of course have the Exhibitors come and show their animals, but we also have live music, a fashion show, and we have over 15 vendors gathered throughout Moro. And the best part of the event is it free to the public to come and participate in all.”

This year’s judges are Nate Kolterman and Colby Taber. Kolterman, owner of KOLT Cattle, has judged numerous shows across the country. Taber serves as the Northern Cattle Field Rep for Show Circuit Online. He grew up on a family cattle/calf operation and was actively involved in 4-H and FFA as a youth.

Calliham said the exhibitors work together to get the cattle downtown.

“Our exhibitors carpool down to Aggieville Business District to get the cattle into Aggieville, and we have some routes to get them there.”

“As soon as their animals are unloaded, we put them in a holding pen right next to the show arena. Then it’s their time to shine and hopefully get crowned the grand champion of the Aggieville Showdown.”

This free-to-the-public event is a unique experience for viewers. To learn more about this year’s Aggieville Showdown visit their website or Facebook page.
