J-Hill Road Bridge at Exit 299 to Close Over I-70 in Junction City

KDOT

On Wednesday, March 5, the Kansas Department of Transportation will close the J-Hill Road bridge over I-70 in Junction City, pending bridge replacement.

KDOT has been monitoring and performing regular inspections of the bridge, and a load rating was set in August 2024. Findings from these inspections have resulted in the decision to close the structure until the bridge replacement has been completed.

There will be no signed detour, motorists will need to find an alternate route.

Replacement for the J-Hill Road bridge has been accelerated and is expected to occur during 2025 in tandem with the current I-70 improvements in this area.
