Since 2019, Area Transition Coordinators have been hosting a Job Olympics competition annually for high school students with special needs.  This competition allows students to showcase their skills in contests related to employment, independent living, and soft skills.

Four Clay Center Community High School (CCCHS) students participated in the 7th annual Job Olympics at Kansas State University on Wednesday, March 5th. All four students came away with medals, with one student winning three.

The Medal Winners are:

  • Jael Stratton:
    • 1st place in Identifying Careers.
  • Layne Tinker:
    • 1st place in Coin Recognition.
  • Autumn Finke:
    • 3rd place in Job Interview.
  • Hannah Harding-Richardson:

These CCCHS students not only showcased their skills and brought home some hardware, they also had the chance to network with area community members and peers. CCCHS cheerleader Izzie Peterson traveled with the competitors to cheer them on throughout their competitions.
