By Payton Tholstrup

Tiger Forensics has made history once again in 2025, marking its 11th consecutive year competing at the KSHSAA State Championship. Despite being limited to just eight tournaments, the team has been quite successful this season with 102 individual medals, six team sweepstakes awards, 14 State Championship Qualifiers, two League Champions, and six National Qualifiers.

Senior Savemore Nyamakope defended her 2024 State Title in Serious Solo Acting on Saturday, May 3rd. Coach Megan Blackburn said, “Savei has placed at the state tournament every year since she was a freshman. She competed for Garden City in the 6A tournament before coming to Clay Center. Last year, she won the whole tournament in Serious Solo Acting. It’s awesome to have a state champion on the team.”

Nyamakope successfully defended her title, winning the KSHSAA 4A State Championship in both Serious Solo Acting and Program of Oral Interpretation. This marks her third state title – a testament to her talent and dedication.

Coach Megan Blackburn said that Nyamakope has helped the team be successful. “Since she’s been here, she has had a huge impact. A large part of the team’s success is due to Savei’s positivity, dedication, and energy.”
