Pamela Ann (Bills) Fields, 76 years of age, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on May 11. 2025, at home in Wakefield, Kansas. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering wisdom and love. She was born on May 31, 1948 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Ludie and Dortha (Adams) Bills. She had several siblings.
Pam married Kenneth “Kenny” Fields on May 26, 1965, in Wichita, Kansas. They had two children, Sherry Kester and Bradley Fields. Pam was a homemaker then completed her degree and was an LPN for 40 years. Pam worked as a home healthcare nurse, even caring for her own mother during Dortha’s battle with cancer. Pam worked at several nursing homes in Manhattan, Kansas, mainly what is now known at Ascension Living Via Christi Village. Pam grew very close to the Swaim family as she provided in-home healthcare for one of their children for almost 20 years
Pam loved her family, and loved to hear what the grandchildren, and later great grandchildren were up to. Pam and Kenny liked to travel, often antiquing along the way. She enjoyed their time in the beautiful mountains of Colorado.
Pam is survived by her two children, Sherry (Wes) Kester, and Brad (Bethany) Fields, her seven grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her half-siblings Susan Hagerty-Meier and John Bills, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenny, her parents, her brother Terry Bills, her sisters, Karen Bills and Christine Tierria, grandson Caleb Kester, and great-granddaughter Brylei Thindiu.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Timber Creek Cemetery in South Timber Creek Park, Wakefield, Kansas with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating. The Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
