State transportation officials say a railroad crossing repair project in Wamego will cause local traffic disruptions and require a major detour for some drivers.
According to the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT), crews will begin repairs at 6 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, and expect to finish by 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3. The work will take place at a railroad crossing located between U.S. Highway 40 and the Wabaunsee/Pottawatomie County line.
During the project, KDOT says KS-99 Highway will be closed in both directions.
