Three Minor Earthquakes Shake Graham County, KS in Two-Hour Span

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded three minor earthquakes in Graham County on Saturday afternoon, all occurring within a two-hour span.

The first quake, a magnitude 2.6, struck at 2:12 p.m. about 7 kilometers southwest of Bogue. At 3:51 p.m., a second quake measuring 2.5 magnitude was recorded south of Hill City. Just two minutes later, a third and slightly stronger 2.7 magnitude earthquake occurred near the Trego-Graham county line, about 11 kilometers northeast of Collyer.

While none of the quakes reached a significant intensity, they may have been felt in surrounding areas.
