Little Learners Childhood Connection and the Clay Counts Coalition are collaborating to bring a free ‘Parenting with Love & Logic’ class to parents and guardians of children aged 1 to 7 in Clay County.

This four-day class on September 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th will be held in the Little Learners Conference Room, beginning with a light supper at 5:15 p.m., followed by class time from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

‘Parenting with Love & Logic’ teaches parents and guardians how to raise responsible, respectful children without anger and lectures.

The class will be taught by certified Love & Logic Trainer and teacher Kayla Chaffee. Chaffee has been a certified trainer since 2005, providing training throughout the area for 20 years. Chaffee spoke about why she became a Love & Logic Trainer.

“When I learned about Love & Logic, it just aligned so much with my own natural views, my ethics, and my morals.

“I came back from training really passionate about it, and was able to become a trainer for my district, USD 475.”

“And there have been multiple opportunities in the last 20 years where people were hungry for direction, and I felt like I might be able to help.”

The class is completely free, and daycare will be provided to children during each class. Chaffee said the class will focus more on the toddler years.

“We decided we would really target parents of toddlers, or grandparents, because my goodness, they’re so cute and so fun at that age, but there’s so much learning that happens that it just really helps.”

“I know myself as a mom of toddlers years ago, it was great to have a road map of like, OK, this is what needs to happen, and this is how I can execute this in a loving way, so I don’t lose my cool.”

“We really start at that foundation.”

The class is limited to only 20 people, so sign up early. Visit the Clay Counts Coalitions website for more information or to register.
