Kansas Tax Collections Exceed July Estimates by $21.2M, Driven by Strong Income Tax Receipts

Kansas ended July 2025 with total tax collections of $670.2 million, surpassing estimates by $21.2 million, or 3.3%. Collections also rose 1.5% compared to July 2024.

Individual income tax collections totaled $347.5 million—10.3% above the estimate and up 12.7% from last July. Corporate income tax collections came in at $18.5 million, falling short of expectations by 47.1% and down 46.0% year-over-year.

Combined retail sales and compensating use tax receipts totaled $291.8 million, 0.8% below the estimate and 4.4% lower than July 2024.
