On August 5, 590 Abilene residents voted in the Primary Election at Holm Automotive to help narrow the field of 10 candidates vying for three seats on the Abilene City Commission. The top six vote-getters advancing to the general election are Debbie Lytle, Alan M. Baier, John Kollhoff, Cy Taylor, Bruce L. Johnson, and Rebecca Perkins.

Lytle led with 379 votes, while incumbent John Kollhoff received 323. Incumbent Wendy Miller, however, was among the bottom four and did not advance.

A total of 867 ballots were cast, including 30 absentee and 247 early votes, representing nearly 19% of the city’s registered voters. In the November 4th general election, the top two candidates will earn four-year terms, and the third-place finisher will serve a two-year term.
