K-State Soccer Opens Season With 2-0 Win in Corbin’s Debut

By Jayson Henderson

Kansas State soccer began the Colleen Corbin era with a 2-0 victory over Oral Roberts on Thursday night at Buser Family Park.

The Wildcats broke through in the 61st minute when junior forward Rilyn Rintoul scored her first career goal. Rintoul, who missed nearly all of 2024 with an ACL injury, put a left-footed shot on target that slipped past the goalkeeper and across the line.

Ten minutes later, redshirt freshman Alix Regier added insurance with a goal in her collegiate debut. Sophomore Hannah Palmer assisted on both scores, becoming the first Wildcat with multiple assists in a match since 2024.

Goalkeeper Maddie Sibbing made two saves for a clean sheet in her K-State debut. The Wildcats held an 8-6 edge in shots and ended a 13-match winless streak.

K-State (1-0-0) will host Portland State on Sunday at 11 a.m. on ESPN+.
