The Community Foundation of Dickinson County is pleased to announce the creation of the Abilene Skate Park Fund, designed to help keep the Skate Park at Eisenhower Park safe, welcoming, and well cared for in the years ahead. The fund will provide support for upkeep and improvements, allowing the park to remain a place where families and kids can enjoy together.

The fund came to fruition through the collaboration of community members, including local resident Jennifer Richter, who reached out to the Foundation in search of building this partnership.

“The skate park is a safe place where kids and families can spend time together,” said Elizabeth Weese, Executive Director of the Foundation. “By supporting this fund, you’re helping make sure the park continues to serve our community well into the future.”

Alongside the new fund, the River Millner Sk8 Competition will be held on Saturday, September 13, from 12-6 p.m. at the Abilene Skate Park. The annual event honors the memory of River Millner and brings people together to celebrate both community and skateboarding.
