The U.S. Postal Service will be closed on Labor Day, September 1, in observance of the federal holiday that honors the nation’s workforce. Customers should expect delays in mail delivery and limited access to postal services.

USPS follows the federal holiday calendar, pausing operations 11 times a year, including upcoming closures on Columbus Day (October 13), Veterans Day (November 11), Thanksgiving (November 27), and Christmas (December 25). To avoid delays, Americans are encouraged to send important mail ahead of the holiday.

FedEx will also have limited services on Labor Day. While FedEx Freight and FedEx Logistics will not operate, FedEx Custom Critical will remain open, and FedEx Office locations will operate on modified hours. Customers are advised to check with local offices for specific operating times.
